We visited Santa in Old Town Spring, and Myles was very good. I think he thought his gifts were based on his behavior in front of Santa.

Afterward, we stop and some cake balls from a little shop next door, and when I offered Myles a 2nd bite, he swallowed the hole thing. His mouth was too full to actually smile, but he definitely thought it was funny.

We're not sure why, but Myles sometimes likes to pulls his pants down to his ankles and waddle around. He thinks it's funny when he stumbles and falls down. Maybe he's getting ready for potty training...

Christmas Day

Myles had a great Christmas in our new house. He got lots of great toys including the Blue Dolphin ball pit you see in the back ground. He enjoyed openings the gifts and try to play with each one immediately after unwrapping it. It was funny trying to get him to open the next one since he was enjoying the previous gifts so much. These pictures are Myles opening his dinosaur and taking his 1st ride on his rocking pony.

Cold Weather Kid

The temperatures in Texas got pretty cold this year at Christmas. Cold weather doesn't stop Myles from enjoying the outdoors. We've got him bundle up in his Mickey Mouse jacket, and he likes his gloves too.

Overalls Rock

Myles got some overalls around Thanksgiving, and he looks great with his new shoes and shirt. The blond hair is really coming in and we've had it cut a few times. He does great at the hair cut place, although the prices they charge are ridiculous. This picture was taken in Myles' classroom at daycare.

Myles loves hats, or least putting things on his head. After dinner one night, he found a plastic pitcher in the cabinet, and presto!! he's a conehead!!! He wore it for an hour.

The Smallest Superman

After attending the neighborhood Halloween party dressed as Kermit the Frog, we stopped at our friends' house (Dwayne and Jana) for some drinks. Jana found this costume and Myles was very excited to wear it. It fit him well, and I think it gave him super strength, or at least super energy. He spent the next 2 hours running up and down the stairs and all around their house.

The daycare had their Halloween Party today. Myles (aka Kermit the Frog) got a ton of great candy. He's a sucker for suckers, and started to eat one with the wrapper still on.

As we were packing for our vacation, Myles climb onto the bed and into our luggage. He wouldn't let us close the lid and zip up the bag. We took this picture and got him flashing his most devious look.

Myles loves to get hold of a pair of oven mitts and pretend he has claws. When he has them on all the way, his entire arms fit inside. We're trying to teach him what "hot" is, but the boy doesn't have much fear.

Myles likes sitting at his new table. We tried to feed him at this table, but we found out that he's too close to the dogs, so he's back eating in his high chair. The table is great for playing, especially coloring and his animal popup. We got 4 chairs in hopes that some friends will come visit once we move into the new house

Myles took his first trip to Chuck-E-Cheese. He liked the Cheese band and skee-ball game. We also got this great picture of the purple dinosaur. The funny part was that Laura and I didn't remember the pizza being so bad.

Fast as a Cheetah

We went to the zoo for Brooke and Jack's birthday party. Myles liked the petting zoo where he got to pet some goats. On the carousel, nothing but the fastest animal would do.

DuBrul Pool Party 2009

Myles attended his 2nd DuBrul pool party and had a great time swimming and floating around the pool. He fell asleep on the way home (around 7:00 pm) and didn't wake up until the next morning.

Too Tired To Eat

Myles thought he could skip his nap, but a morning of swimming finally caught up with him when he was eating his dinner. After he ate some beans, rice, and a quesadilla, he started to drift off while he had his 2nd helping of beans. We think it's the first time he's ever fallen asleep in the highchair.

Father's Day 2009

Dad had a good father's day this past weekend. Laura gave us the "Me" and "Mini Me" t-shirts last year, and the "Daddy's my Hero" outfit is from this year. As you can see, Myles is getting bigger every day, and he's still a ham.

Love that Wagon!!!

Myles got a wagon for his birthday, and as you can see, it's a big hit. We took him on his 1st ride one night right before bedtime, and he had a great time riding through the back yard. We've pulled him around the neighborhood a few times, and even went to see cousin Greg (whose house is just a few blocks away). Myles has a lot of fun bumping around in the back and seeing all the new things along the way.

Myles' 1st Birthday Party

We had Myles 1st Birthday party on Mother's day, and he put on quite the show. After tasting his cake with one finger, Myles decided the best attack was a face-plant into the middle of it. I actually had to raise his head because I thought he might not be breathing well with his mouth and nose submersed in icing. He then proceeded to eat the whole cake, covering himself (and me trying to change him) with cake. The last photo is Myles showing everyone his belly after a long day of food, fun, and presents.

Inquisitive Myles

Myles is getting more independent each day, and he loves to try out new things. He recently started noticing the camera, and wants to hold it when ever we get it out to take his picture. You can also see that his hair is coming in a little more now.

1st Baseball Hat

While exploring our closet, Myles found a box of my old collector baseball helmets. He pulled each one out one by one until the box was empty. I tried to put each one on his head, but he only wanted to wear 1 (the Pirates). Last year's World Series teams (Phillies and Rays) were thrown to side the fastest.

Myles looks more and more like a little man, especially when he's wearing a golf polo and tan pants. Of course, everything still goes into his mouth (yes that's a flashlight).

Winter Hat

Living in Houston, we don't have too much need for warm clothes, but it does get chilly every once in a while. Myles has one winter hat, but we think he looks awesome when wearing it. While out for a stroll, he wears it the entire time, but he's more apt to take it off inside.

Myles started crawling a few days ago, and we got some great video tonight. Of course, he has to be properly motivated to really motor, so we broke out some dog toys. Our lives will never be the same!!!

Bath Time Rocks!

Myles loves his bath time. He especially likes to lay down in the tub and "swim" around. He splash us a lot, and the dogs think he's very strange for always taking a bath. The picture on the left is Myles with his favorite rubber duck. On the right, Myles shows off his new chompers - he likes to stand up on the side of the tub, so he puts the foam letters and numbers in his mouth so he can hold on the side of the tub with his hands.

Myles sat in Santa's lap this afternoon, and even got to pet a real reindeer. With his red reindeer outfit and elf like hat, Myles got lots of compliments and attention. Unconfirmed reports is that Myles put in an early request for a trampoline.

For Thanksgiving this year, we were in Austin at Aunt Anita's house. Everyone was so excited to see Myles and marveled at how much he had grown. Myles was eager to show off how he could stand up (Marci was happy to hold his hands for balance).

No, it's not a dog treat! It a teething biscuit. Myles doesn't have teeth yet, but he really enjoyed gumming this biscuit and get himself (and Daddy) all messy. He was munching right before bedtime, so the last picture is more "sleepy" rather than "full". Notice that Sasha is waiting and ready to finish off any remaining food.

Myles is wearing his first set of scrubs. As you can see, he's mastered sitting up. Next step is the transition from laying down to sitting (or crawling). I'm sure he'll be running in no time.

Myles has started eating solid foods, and he always wants to hold the spoon. Hopefully, as time goes by, more food will end up IN his mouth rather than on it. However, his parents both have the clumsy gene, so he made be in for a rough ride.

We could not help but share this photo. We took it right before bath time, and Myles loves his bath. He splashes in the water and plays with his rubber duck. The duck squeaks, so Kira is always close by in case Myles wants to share his toy.

Smyles & Pumpkins

Myles' 1st Halloween is approaching, so Laura got him a Smiles costume. Luckily, he's all smiles in this photo with the pumpkins we (Mike, Marci, Greg, Matt, & Laura) carved. The pumpkin on the left is a spider and web (very cool), and the one 2nd from the right is a Pacman. The funny part was that after a few days, the Pacman pumpkin started to droop, so it looked like and old man pacman that wasn't wearing dentures.

Walking?

Myles has always had strong legs, so we thought we would see how well he could stand. With a little help from the computer chair, he supported himself...for about 3 seconds. That's Daddy's hands in the background ready to grab him when he started to lean. We know one thing for sure...as soon as he can walk - he'll be running.

As you may notice, his Peanut shirt is showing definite signs of Myles' teething. He likes to gnaw on almost anything - including our fingers.

Myles met his 1st cousin Mason for the first time when we had to evacuate for Hurricane Ike. Myles enjoyed hanging out with Mason, and we took some great photos - like this one of Myles examining Mason's foot.

We went to visit Grandma and Grandpa for the July 4th Holiday. They got to see Myles for the first time since he was born. Also, Anita, Wendy, Zach, Harold, Tammy and her girls all came to visit as well. Myles loved it outside on the swing, and the weather was great. Inside, Myles favorite spot was in the rocking chair - I think it was Grandma's favorite spot as well

Myles visited Dad's office on June 11th. He was a big hit as 40+ people came by to say hello. One coworker said, "I know my son was that little once, but I don't think he was that adorable."

Myles was born on May 13th @ 4:39 pm at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston Tx. He weighed 8 lb 15 oz and was 20 in long.
